Dr. Thomas E. Swonke, DDS

Dr. Thomas E. Swonke is a distinguished graduate of the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston and a GP Orthodontic Post Graduate Fellowship alumnus. With 28 years of clinical experience, he has built an international reputation as one of Houston's most skilled and trusted dentists — attracting patients from Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates.
Among Houston's earliest adopters of neuromuscular occlusion techniques, Dr. Swonke specializes in uniting orthodontic precision with cosmetic restoration artistry to create smiles that are not just beautiful — but healthy and structurally stable. He takes great pride in treating complex cases that other dentists find challenging.
His work in ClearCorrect clear aligner therapy earned him a feature on the Discovery Channel. He holds medical staff appointments at both St. Luke's Hospital and Texas Children's Hospital and actively conducts dental research within the Texas Medical Center.
Beyond the Dental Chair
Outside the practice, Dr. Swonke is a passionate marathon and half-marathon runner who enjoys biking and water sports. He gives back to underserved communities through volunteer work with St. Laurence Medical Missions of Divine Mercy in Mexico, providing dental care to those who need it most.
Dr. Swonke has been happily married to his wife Mellonee for over 23 years. Together they have two children, Megan and Blake. The family resides in Sugar Land, Texas.
